Born in Sydney Katherine Allsopp is an Australian artist who currently lives and works in Taree, NSW, in Biripi Country. Her three passions in life are her family, painting and learning.

Allsopp's paintings explore the act of observation and are process driven. Exploring a range of subject matter, the artworks are visual explorations, made tangible in paint. Her process creates unexpected imagery, full of vigour and feeling. The finished work becomes an amalgam of both the artists visual journey of an image and the viewers interpretation of the finished composition.

Katherine Allsopp completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the National Art School, achieving both Painting and Drawing Awards from the Friends of the National Art School Foundation. She has also been the recipient of the William Fletcher Foundation Grant in Painting, and has been a finalist in the Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award and the Portia Geach Portrait Prize.

Her work is in private collections around Australia.
